Well Hello. . . and thank you for stopping by.
You are probably wondering how "PAINT WITH ME NANA" got its name.
I have been an amateur photographer since leaving my home town for a career in the airline industry. During my travels, I would take photos of just about anything. I got lots of compliments on my photos and was told that "I had a gift".
Fast forward to 2015. I had begun to explore using my photos as subject matter for acrylic painting. I was babysitting my precious little granddaughter and one of the things she loved to do is sit with me at the kitchen table, bring out her mother's paints, and say to me, "Paint with me Nana". Like many 3-4 year old little girls, she was very imaginative.
One day I took every color that I could find, and painted swish marks all over the paper. I took a photo of it and showed it to fellow employees. They loved it so much that they wanted to BUY the photos. One fellow even had me make a 'print on canvas'. I thought - "WOW! If I continue to create this abstract type art, there is no telling what I can come up with".
A few months later, a dear friend asked me to paint her barn, her cat and her dog. Oh dear! I stepped up to the challenge and while the finished product looked like a 5th grader's effort, I didn't give up and I didn't stop. I was encouraged every step of the way by friends; including encouragement from my grown children - which is one of the best feelings in the world.
So here we are today. I am now in my 70's and continue to create my paintings either from photos I have taken, or favorite photos provided by people who know my work and want me to create a painting for them. Sometimes when I finish a challenging painting, I step back and say "How did I do that?". I cannot tell you how much fulfillment I get from creating these paintings and I do not plan to stop anytime soon.
I invite you to explore my website and view my work. These are many of my favorites. If you would like me to give you pricing for a 'print on canvas' of my work, or want me to create a painting from a favorite photo of your own, please reach out via the email link provided on the welcome page. It would make me happy to have my work hanging in your home or office for all to enjoy.
Enjoy my "PAINT WITH ME NANA" creations.
Sincerely,
Patty
